Butterflies and bling comin' at ya today! Just Add Ink's challenge this week is to make your card very feminine with pink and sparklies! I chose SU!'s dainty Pink Pirouette and one of their butterfly stamps, since butterflies are dainty as well. And, surprise, more rhinestones!! :)

This card used the kissing technique, for which this butterfly is perfect. I inked it up in Pink, then took my dot stamp inked in Espresso. My [p]inked :) butterfly resting rubber-up on the table, I kissed it with the dot stamp leaving Espresso colored dots on the butterfly. Then you take the butterfly and stamp it on your paper. The trick to this is a quick, light touch with the pattern stamp; press too hard and it will smudge. This kiss is just a peck - a butterfly kiss, if you will!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: For All You Do, Occasional Quotes, Polka Dots & Paisley
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso (used Stampin' Write Marker to outline butterflies)
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray textured, Whisper White, Early Espresso
Tools: Scallop Edge punch, Large Oval punch, Scalloped Oval punch, Dimensional, glue dots
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Flower Fusion 2, Designer Buttons Neutrals

I made this card a few weeks ago, but I didn't have the rhinestones at the time. I looked at my finished product, but thought it was missing something. I finally got rhinestones and they were just what this card needed! I love SU!s Jewel Accents - a sheet of pearls or rhinestones with adhesive backing (no messy glue, no glue dots that are too big). Just peel 'em and stick 'em!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: For All You Do
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Tangerine Tango
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Rose Red, Tangerine Tango, Perfect Plum
Tools: 1" & 1 1/4" Circle punches, sponge (on Whisper White background)
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones

I hope to start posting much more regularly so I decided to title with dates. Otherwise, I waste time trying to come up with a "clever" title (term used loosely!!). The cards I am posting today are more challenge-responses! I've found even one more blog with challenges.... as if I needed more. :)

Last night I found Stampin' Royalty and their great color challenge this week. Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Not Quite Navy and Old Olive - a fabulous combination! I think I will tuck this combo away for future use. AND I actually found another SplitCoast challenge forum: Free 4 All. This weeks challenge was to make and give a "Get Well" card. My mom has been fighting a cold the last few days, so I made this for her and Adam and I took it over to her with a packet of Peach Tea.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Punched Posies (flower and the dots on the twill tape), Wellness Wishes, Texture wheel
Ink: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy
Paper: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Not Quite Navy DSP (retired) and textured, Old Olive DSP (retired) and textured, Cherry Cobbler
Tools: 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Corner Rounder punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates, Dots dry embossing template (retired), stylus, dimensionals
Embellishments: Twill tape

Then I made my way over to the Diva Coffee Break site for Design Challenge #190. The colors are Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. I came up with this:

Supplies:
Stamps: For All You Do
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder
Embellishment: Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon

Baja is BACK

I LOVE Baja Breeze! I am thrilled that it will be coming back in July. This card was a sample in the latest demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success. I loved it for it's simplicity and because I love the For All You Do set. I did change the colors a bit as they made it all with neutrals.

Stamp Set: For All You Do
Paper: Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake), Chocolate Chip textured, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Buttons Latte
Accessories: paper snips (that's not a butterfly punch/die cut!), paper piercer

One Color Card

I love when I can make a card that doesn't use a lot of supplies. This card is made of one color of ink, the same one COLOR of card stock, one NEUTRAL and one simple embellishment. I did, however, use 2 stampe sets. :) I found this card on Splitcoast - a card-makers best friend - and changed a couple of things. Her card is even simpler, as it has no embellishment and only two little flowers snipped out.

This card uses:

Card Stock: Very Vanilla and Bravo Burgundy - a color that is staying!
Stamp Sets: For All You Do and Heard From the Heart
Embellishment: Brads Filigree

I stamped the floral square from For All You Do, then stamped again without reinking it. That gave me the lighter shade. Obviously, I repeated that for the other squares. I don't have a square punch large enough to fit the square, so I just cut them with my paper cutter. I cut the larger, layered squares accordingly. I decided to take it up just a notch by stamping the little flower from the same set and snipping them out with my paper snips. Now I wonder if it might have looked a little better putting the lighter flowers on the dark squares and viceversa... Then a quick stamp of the sentiment at the bottom, which is slightly crooked :) and it was done!

Also, I chose this particular sentiment because it is appropriate for a birthday, a wedding, an anniversary, just because.... I love that this card is simple and versatile!
