March 25, 2011 #2

It's funny - when I first started stamping it seemed difficult to incorporate much embellishment. Now, of course, it's difficult NOT to! But that's exactly what Just Add Ink is challenging us to do this week! Using only ink, stamps and paper, this is what I came up with:

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Bring on the Cake, Circle Circus
Ink: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist
Paper: Confetti White, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie

So, I really love the color combination from ColorQ this week. However, my supply of Bermuda Bay and Kiwi Kiss card stock is extremely low at this point. And I'm not too crazy about Concord Crush which led to yet another low supply! All that to say, it was tricky to pull this off. I used the sketch from Inkspirations for this card, as well.

Supplies:
Paper: Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue, Concord Crush, Urban Oasis DSP, Bermuda Bay
Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice, Many Thanks Sizzlit, Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Embellishments: 1/4" Bashful Blue Grosgrain ribbon

Stampin' Royalty has a sketch challenge this week. The sketch challenges are good for me as I tend to do layouts that look similar to past cards I have done. :) So hard to stretch outside my box! This is a fun sketch and is perfect for using DSP (another thing I sometimes struggle to do!).
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: So Happy For You, Birthday Whimsy
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Taken with Teal, Sahara Sand (sponged)
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Sweet Pea DSP, Whisper White
Tools: hmm... paper snips and 1/16" hole punch :)
Embellishments: Designer Buttons Neutrals, crochet thread, Silver Brads

Every once in a while, I decide to tackle a Mojo Monday sketch! This week is one of those once in a while's. :) The sketches over there can easily intimidate me, but I felt I could do this one. I'm pretty pleased with it. It's versatile in regard to occasion. However, it is quite feminine! I wanted to use Pink Pirouette (vs Pretty in Pink) but, until Friday, have only scraps of cards tock in that color on hand. :( Pretty in Pink made a suitable substitute, but I will definitely make another card with the color combo I originally had in mind!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Just Believe
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Early Espresso
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand textured, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Tools: 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, Eyelet Border punch, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Sticky Strip (to adhere Victoria Crochet Trim to circle)
Embellishments: Victoria Crochet Trim, 3/8" Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon

I can't believe I went almost 2 weeks without a new post! Eek! I've been busy with stamping, just not posting it! A friend /fellow SU! demonstrator and I are preparing for an event this Saturday - attendees will be making a project for every month! Of course, I've been busy with other things, too!

Well, I am excited about this card! I sat down last evening to make a card with the Bliss set from the SAB catalog because I just got it Monday. I mainly wanted to use the "filigree" or whatever one might call that. This is what I stamped out! The picture doesn't quite capture thefeel of it with the vellum, but you get the idea. I'm proud of myself for turning out something so chic! :) Even my husband was impressed with this one. Then I woke this morning to find that the Stamping Royalty challenge is to use texture/embossing folders!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Bliss, Close as a Memory
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, StazOn Black
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Basic Black, Vellum
Tools: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF
Embellishments: Antique Brads

And this is another card, I actually did it last week but never had time to post. (Trust me: I don't need a challenge to encourage me to use embossing folders! LOL I'm beginning to wonder what I ever did without them!!) I had decided I wanted to use this color combination and came up with this!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Ink: Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Curly Label punch
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Brights Designer Buttons Rich Razzleberry
