Color Challenges are my favorite. That is just how my brain works. Often my "own" inspiration is sitting down, grabbing my ring of color swatches and picking a few colors... an idea forms and, soon, a card forms! So, I am happy when I find places for color inspiration like the Play Date Cafe. The darker green in this weeks color splash proved a bit challenging for me but I scrounged up some Handsome Hunter which worked just fine. I also decided to add the lighter lavender hue - there is a little of it in the inspiration photo, so I didn't feel to guilty about it. ;)

I am really liking both the color scheme and the sketch this week from a couple of my favorite challenge sites. I will probably make another card for both of them! Had to change it up a bit due to not having the retired colors, but the colors are from ColorQ and the sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketches. This Whimsy set hasn't seen ink for a long time!

I used the color scheme from the previous week at Play Date Cafe. Just didn't get around to making a card until it was too late. I did use a current challenge from Freshly Made Sketches, though! I flipped it because I wanted to use Melon Mambo for the strip across but didn't have a piece that could make it across a horizontal layout! I am down to scraps of that color - unbelievable!

Posting my card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. I just did not have a sentiment that was the right size, in the right font to put it in as the sketch suggests. So I put on a ribbon instead. :)

 I have been trying to make a card with the sketch at Just Add Ink for the week. It just wasn't clicking with me, for some reason. Finally, today I managed to come up with something - of course, I was too late to submit it! I also used the colors from the Color Throwdown challenge this week - I did add green for the leaves/stems. And I just now realized I was supposed to use Crumb Cake but forgot! :-/

Found some time this morning to make a card for two challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches and The Play Date Cafe (a site I found just recently).

It looks better in real life, I think, but what can I do? :) For the color challenge I really had to scrounge! I pulled out scraps and dug deep into my collection of ... abandoned colors.
