I've been wanting to try this butterfly with the Blossom punch since seeing it in the mini. I paired it up with the Color Challenge from The Paper Players. These antennae happened by accident. I layered the two butterflies and the Coral one was a bit bigger so I started to trim just that little area. The "tip" of the trim did not quite meet, so those tiny strips stayed on and I noticed they looked like antennae! Perfect. :)

Supplies
Stamp Set: Mixed Bunch
Ink: VersaMark, Calypso Coral (sponge dauber to center of butterfly)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral
Tools: Big Shot, Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1, Blossom punch, White EP, heat tool, sponge dauber
Embellishments: Pear Pizzazz pleated ribbon, Basic Pearls

This post contains 2 cards for 2 different challenges!

First up for the Paper Players sketch:

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Butterfly Prints, Curly Cute
Ink: Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, VersaMark
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Early Espresso, Ice Cream Parlor DSP, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Tools: Big Shot, Flower Garden EF, Butterfly Punch, Modern Label punch, White EP, heat tool
Embellishment: 3/8" Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon (I put a small piece of tape on the back side of the ribbon right under where the turquoise butterfly lays. Then I looped up the end of the ribbon and stuck it to the back of itself with sticky strip, letting it hang free/loose under the label. Hence, it is actually crooked in the picture which I didn't notice until just now!)

And for the Saturday Sketch Challenge (for which I missed the deadline by 5 hours) at Stamping411:

Ink: Basic Gray, Bravo Burgundy
Paper: Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
Tools: Big Shot, Elegant Lines EF, 1 1/4 Square punch, Modern Label Punch
Embellishments: Seam Binding Baja Breeze, Victoria Crochet Trim

For the Friday Mash-Up Challenge this week, I chose to use the color Wild Wasabi and the neutral Basic Black (oh, and white, but I don't that counts!) in addition to the challenge colors: Marina Mist and Perfect Plum. I also incorporated the Bling and Wings part of the challenge!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: God's Beauty and Kind & Caring Thoughts (both retired hostess sets)
Ink: Black StazOn, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery (marker to color leaves), Marina Mist (marker to color butterfly)
Paper: Perfect Plum, Basic Black textured, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Tools: Eyelet Border Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, paper snips
Embellishments: 1/8" Whisper White Taffeta ribbon, Stickles

Bring on the Cake 2

The other five cards are rather straightforward.

Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Confetti White, Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade
Paper Piercer, Big Shot, Top Note die, Butterfly punch, Basic Rhinestones

Please refer to the post below this one for this card, as the color scheme came from a ColorQ challenge.

Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi; Black StazOn
Big Shot, Stripes EF, Square Lattice EF, Hemp Twine, Corner Rounder punch, Silver Brads

The flames are actually leaves from Little Leaves Sizzlit, snipped off and trimmed a bit. I thought the varying sizes seemed more realistic.
Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Early Espresso
Baker's Twine Early Espresso, Designer Buttons Regals Night of Navy, Big Shot, Stripes EF, Ovals die, Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, sponging

Rose Red, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Whisper White (although Very Vanilla would match the ribbon better)
Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Large Scallop Circle punch, Big Shot, Stripes EF, Glimmer Brad Neutrals, 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Soft Suede, Dazzling Details

----------
I hope this inspires you to pick up a stamp set and find out just how versatile it can be! For my customers, I am planning to to a "Birthday Bonanza" class this fall. I'll charge a flat fee, have the supplies ready for you and you can come make these 6 cards!

A few of the challenge sites I've been following have seemingly "dropped off", become unattended to or oft forgotten! :( No worries, though, as there are so many blogs out there. I found a new challenge site that looks like a lot of fun! The Friday Mashup offers 2-in-1 challenges, you can do one, the other or both together. This week you can do a handmade flower or use red, black and turquoise. I chose to mash it up! I made paper buttons in flower shapes (hope that counts!) and used the colors, too.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Bliss, A Word for You (inside I used: congratulations on finding each other)
Ink: VersaMark; inside: Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Pool Party
Tools: Black embossing powder, heat tool, Big Shot, Flower Garden EF, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Fancy Flower punch, Large Scallop Circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch
Embellishments: Chantilly, crochet thread

And this finishes up the non-birthday cards for the order I'm currently working on. Two more birthday cards and I'll be delivering the cards! Yay! Butterflies and bling comin' at ya today! Just Add Ink's challenge this week is to make your card very feminine with pink and sparklies! I chose SU!'s dainty Pink Pirouette and one of their butterfly stamps, since butterflies are dainty as well. And, surprise, more rhinestones!! :)

This card used the kissing technique, for which this butterfly is perfect. I inked it up in Pink, then took my dot stamp inked in Espresso. My [p]inked :) butterfly resting rubber-up on the table, I kissed it with the dot stamp leaving Espresso colored dots on the butterfly. Then you take the butterfly and stamp it on your paper. The trick to this is a quick, light touch with the pattern stamp; press too hard and it will smudge. This kiss is just a peck - a butterfly kiss, if you will!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: For All You Do, Occasional Quotes, Polka Dots & Paisley
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso (used Stampin' Write Marker to outline butterflies)
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray textured, Whisper White, Early Espresso
Tools: Scallop Edge punch, Large Oval punch, Scalloped Oval punch, Dimensional, glue dots
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Flower Fusion 2, Designer Buttons Neutrals

Baja is BACK

I LOVE Baja Breeze! I am thrilled that it will be coming back in July. This card was a sample in the latest demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success. I loved it for it's simplicity and because I love the For All You Do set. I did change the colors a bit as they made it all with neutrals.

Stamp Set: For All You Do
Paper: Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake), Chocolate Chip textured, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Buttons Latte
Accessories: paper snips (that's not a butterfly punch/die cut!), paper piercer
