I still have soooo many flowers left in the Flower Fusion 2 tin, it's just not even funny. Even though these are Pink Pirouette, I took the liberty of using them for the Inkspirations color challenge this week. The sketch is from Stamping 411.

Well, this is my first attempt at "Taking it to the Top" as demonstrated on Stamping 411. I think this is a great idea to incorporate at a workshop. For me, at this stage in my card-creativity, it is difficult to start with a simple card. I'm usually hitting that intermediate area. I will try another time with the simply adding more layers or embellishments to a basic card. But, for now, this will do - it keeps that center-focus flower and the Thank You at the top, but each card is a bit different and more involved than the last.

These all use the colors Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla; they all use the Stamp Set Curly Cute and the Triple Treat Flower.

This card is layered using the Baja Breeze base, Chocolate Chip then Very Vanilla. I refrained form using any embellishment and I only used a small (aka cheaper!) punch - the 1/2" Circle.

Next (which was actually the first card I made in this set) I have used the Big Shot and one Embossing Folder, Stripes. Also I used 3 punches: 1/2" Circle again, 5 Petal Flower and Scallop Trim Border. I have the 5 Petal flower up on Dimensionals. I added ribbon as well.

Last, for my most involved card, I took away some tools and added others. I did not use the 1/2" Circle punch, but I used a Jumbo Brad in the flower center. I added use of the Fancy Flower Punch, the Modern Label punch and the Large Oval punch. I did not use the Stripes EF but, instead, used the Perfect Polka Dots. And I doubled up on the Chocolate Chip Scalloped Polka Dot ribbon and moved it to the sides.

I decided to try my hand at the Embossed Background technique as featured on Stamping 411.

To do this, you punch or die cut any shape(s). Then use the Dotto adhesive (easily removable with the adhesive remover) to adhere it to the back of a piece of paper/card stock. Then run it through your Big Shot much like you would with an embossing folder. Then peel the shapes off and even save them to reuse. I punched my shapes out of a thin cardboard, from the packages of DSP, actually.

My first card uses the little Heart punch and the Full Heart punch. I hope you can see them!

Ended up having unexpected free time this evening so, of course, I used it wisely. :) I made this card for the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge this week. I finally found a use for these Pumpkin and Olive Flower Fusion Daisies that have been in my stash for a year!

Last night I went to the Stamping 411 site and was glad to find this Color Challenge: Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. Since I've been working on 4o cards in bright colors, I'm always happy for inspiration. These are certainly bright colors! :)

I Love Challenges!

If you are ever hurting for inspiration, participate in challenges! I am quite addicted to them. You can find challenges on SplitCoastStampers (I prefer the Clean and Simple card challenges, myself). Stamping 411 is a blog I recently found with several challenges per week. Diva Coffee Break Designs is another blog with great challenges. And these are only a few - which is enough to keep one busy, but you may find others out there that suit you better!
