June 26, 2011

I'm so behind on Greeting Card orders! I am taking shortcuts and chose to CASE this card by Mary Browne. I wanted a card that was a bit brighter. So, this is my version:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: So Happy For You
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Tools: Boho Blossoms punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF
Embellishments: Silver Brads, 3/8" Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon

-----------

This card is loosely based on a card that I saw... somewhere! I cannot find it now. :( It was more clean and simple and in different colors. It used this silhouette image in ?Wasabi on a white rectangle, with ?Bashful Blue butterflies, on a ?Saffron card base embossed with the square lattice EF. This card is different enough, I don't feel too terrible that I can't link to that card - but the card was quite lovely!
**Addendum: Aha! No wonder I couldn't find the site to link it -- I saw it in the new Idea Book & Catalog! p 109 :)

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Close as a Memory
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, StazOn Black
Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Vellum
Tools: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Ovals die, Tearing Edge
Embellishments: Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Antique Brad, Basic Pearls

These colors come from the challenge over on The Color Dare this week. I've paired this with a challenge on SplitCoastStampers to get inspiration from a cyber-card-friend. :) I chose to head over to bon2stamp gallery. A while ago, I asked her a question about the sizes of oval in the Ovals die from Stampin' Up! She not only answered my question, she sent me ovals in the mail! That definitely put her in the friend category even though we've never met and live half a country away. :) (I visit her blog Stamping with Klass frequently - check it out.) I CASEd her Hollyhock Garden card.

This week the challenge on ColorQ has a masculine feel. I always keep it CAS (clean and simple) for masculine cards. :) I had just a 5.25" x 3.5" rectangle of Bordering Blue left in my stash!
Although I didn't do this on purpose... Tonight I was looking back over [my usual sites'] challenges for the week and realized this card works for the sketch over on Stamping 411! I think I'll do another card with this sketch, because it's right up my alley - obviously! LOL

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Bliss
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Cajun Craze
Paper: Basic Gray, Cajun Crase, Bordering Blue, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White
Tools: 1 1/4" Square punch, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Tearing Edge
Embellishments: Designer Buttons - Basic Gray, Whisper White and Cajun Craze; crochet thread
